When I first began exploring holistic wellness practices, I was drawn to the ones that were simple and I knew I could do regularly.

Dry brushing quickly became a favorite. It takes only a few minutes and leaves me feeling energized, refreshed, and more connected to my body. And it’s so simple. No learning curve here.

Buy a natural bristle brush and brush your dry skin arms, legs, belly, neck before showering. That’s it. But boy does it pay off.  It supports circulation, gets rid of dead skin and supports skin renewal.

Here’s the Science Behind This

The lymphatic system plays a key role in immune function and fluid balance, relying on movement to circulate effectively. Dry brushing may gently encourage lymphatic flow and support the body’s natural elimination processes especially when paired with hydration and regular exercise.

The brushing motion stimulates blood flow near the surface of the skin, promoting a healthy glow and a subtle warming effect. It also naturally exfoliates, removing dead skin cells to improve texture and enhance moisturizer absorption.

Beyond the physical benefits, dry brushing creates a moment of intentional care. It’s less about “fixing” the body and more about supporting it through small, consistent rituals that promote balance.

How to Dry Brush

Use a natural bristle brush

Brush on dry skin before showering

Use gentle strokes toward the heart

Start at your feet and move upward

Shower afterward and moisturize

2–4 times per week is typically enough.

Remember in holistic health, it’s often the small rituals that make the biggest difference.
